Sutton: we’re on a Ryder mission

Sutton: we’re on a Ryder mission

In announcing 50-year-old Jay Haas and Stewart Cink as his wild card selections, Sutton stressed he is going to need maturity of thinking from his players and criticised some of his predecessors for “playing everybody in everything so that they would feel good”.

“We are going to do it differently this time. I’m going to ask everybody to be grown men, to be mature about what they are going to do and I’m going to play the guys who I think can win this thing. If that means Jay and Stewart play five matches, they play five matches. If that means they play two matches, they play two matches.”
