TWENTY years ago, Thomas Levet was caddying for Bernhard Langer. Now the 36-year-old Frenchman is playing for European captain Langer in his first ever Ryder Cup.

"I've come a long way," laughed the wisecracking Frenchman, revelling in the atmosphere that makes the Ryder Cup so different from any other golf tournament.

"I was the best teenage amateur in France and I was given the job of caddying for Bernhard for three days in an exhibition tournament in France," explained Levet. "And I still have the pictures to prove it."
