Monty fears an end to his lucrative club deal
Montgomerie signed a lengthy and lucrative contract to play Hogan clubs and balls after the Ryder Cup last year, ending his long and successful association with Callaway.
But Callaway last week bought the TopFlite company of which Hogan is a subsidiary, and reports suggest Montgomerie fears his contract - and that of other Hogan players Bernhard Langer and Luke Donald will not be honoured.
It means the 40-year-old will have to find a new deal at a time when his world ranking has slipped to 32nd, the lowest since he joined the rankings at number 36 in 1991.
The Scot has yet to win a tournament this season and is keen to remedy that as soon as possible to climb back up the world rankings and also ensure he does not finish outside the top 10 on the European Tour's Order of Merit for the first time since 1990.
He is also playing five tournaments in a row in search of some valuable Ryder Cup points after belatedly understanding the ramifications of the new qualifying system.
