Club websites on offer

Ireland's newest golf website, Parbirdiegolf.com, is offering special priced websites to golf clubs, societies and corporate golf outings.

The venture has been set up by sports journalist Michael Carwood, IT specialist Claude Saulnier and marketing consultant Martin Corcoran.

The three directors were involved with a2zsoccer.com, a football website that offered a service to junior and schoolboy soccer as well as the eircom League, Premiership, Champions League and international tournaments. After a while they realised that this format was equally suited to golf.

"The package is already proving very popular with societies. Unlike clubs, many societies don't have a base so the website provides a vital communication artery," said Carwood.
