The 30-year-old Dubliner is five under par at the halfway stage, just four shots behind 1999 British Amateur champion Graeme Storm of England with Waterville’s David Higgins three behind his fellow countryman.

“I played well again today,” said Browne, who is looking to secure a place on the 2005 European Tour by breaking into the Challenge Tour’s top 15 before the end of the 2004 season.
