Cork’s win over Donegal in Ballybofey will be remembered for a long time on Leeside.
And amongst the celebrations from the few hardy supporters who made the long journey north, Irish Examiner’s senior sportswriter Maurice Brosnan spoke to two of the key men behind the triumph.
First up was midfielder Seán Walsh, who admitted he was delighted with the win having been given little to no chance of emerging victorious by a large portion of the county.
And following Walsh was manager John Cleary, who admitted he was delighted to give the Rebels’ hardcore football followers a great day out.
He will be hoping there is more to come this summer as Cork now have an All-Ireland football quarter-final to look forward to in a couple of weeks.
