Dublin manager Ger Brennan has been proposed a 12-week suspension arising from his sending off against Galway in Salthill last Sunday.
Brennan has been recommended the penalty for a Category IVa offence, “any type of physical interference with an opposing player or team official”.
Brennan removed the ear-piece of Galway strength and conditioning coach Cian Breathnach McGinn, who is understood to have received an eight-week ban for his part in the half-time on-field flashpoint in the final round Division 1 game.
Brennan is set to miss the entire Leinster championship and opening round of the All-Ireland series.
If the suspension stands, the St Vincent’s man will not be permitted to prepare or be involved with Dublin in that period. It is expected the Dublin County Board will seek a meeting with the Central Hearings Committee to query the punishment.
The rulebook now states any time-based suspension for misconduct prohibits them from “managing, directing, assisting, or communicating with the team in any way during the period of the time-based suspension.”
