Munster GAA has announced that the Munster Senior Football Championship cup will be named in honour of Kerry legend Páidí Ó Sé.
The decision was confirmed following a meeting of the Munster Council on Tuesday night.
Prior to this announcement, the cup was not named after a person or organisation.

"Comhairle na Mumhan has approved the naming of the Munster Senior Football Cup in honour of the late Páidí Ó Sé of Kerry," Munster GAA said in a statement.
"The trophy will be presented to the winners of the 2026 Munster Senior Football Final."
Ó Sé is regarded as one of the most iconic figures in Gaelic games. The eight-time All-Ireland winner claimed 11 Munster titles as a player, captaining Kerry to victory over Cork in the 1985 final. During his time as Kerry manager, he led the Kingdom to six Munster titles. Ó Sé died in 2012, aged 57.
Up until 2021 - when it was named in honour of Limerick great Mick Mackey - the Munster Senior Hurling Championship trophy also did not have an individual or organisational name.
This year's Munster SFC gets underway on April 12 when Tipperary play Waterford and Limerick face Cork in the quarter-finals. Kerry will open their campaign against Clare in the semi-final at Cusack Park on April 25.
