GAA: Masita All-Ireland PPS SHC semi-final: St Kieran’s College, Kilkenny 2-18 Nenagh CBS 2-15

A late Dan Carroll goal sent St Kieran's College, Kilkenny into the Croke Cup final, completing a remarkable comeback in a cracking semi-final in Rathdowney.

Kieran’s hit the last 1-5 of the contest to secure a final meeting with Presentation College, Athenry, who overcame St Flannan's in the other semi-final.

The Harty Cup winners looked set to progress when they led by 2-15 to 1-13 with no more than seven minutes left on the clock.

Nenagh skipper Eoghan Doughan had eight points to his name, five from play, while Eanna Tucker and Joe O’Dwyer had bagged the Nenagh goals.

Jake Mullen’s first-half goal was keeping Kieran's in touch. But just as they rallied late against St Raphael’s of Loughrea in the quarter-final, Kieran's refused to accept defeat and caught fire late on.

David Barcoe's brilliant point first levelled matters, before Carroll flicked in the winner for the jubilant Kilkenny boys with more or less the final act.

They remain on course for a 26th Croke Cup crown.
