One of Kerry’s best known hurling sons, Shane Brick, will coach the county seniors in 2026.

Brick, who lined out for the Kingdom throughout the noughties and beginning of the last decade, has joined John ‘Tweak’ Griffin’s backroom team as coach for the 2026 season.

Having transferred to Cork club, Tracton, in the twilight years of his playing career, Brick has since held a number of sideline roles on Leeside.

As well as working with his native Kilmoyley, whom he managed to the 2018 Kerry county final, he was part of the Douglas senior hurling backroom team, coached Tracton, and most recently served as manager of Premier Intermediate outfit Castlemartyr.

Kerry, following second-tier relegation last year, will compete in the Christy Ring Cup next summer. Their 2026 season begins with Munster SHL fixtures away to Waterford and home to Tipperary on January 7 and 11 respectively.
