Rebel flavour with plenty of star names set to hurl for Tim in Kilmoyley
Hurling for Tim details
A host of Cork senior stars will be among the attractions when sides managed by Anthony Daly and John Meyler meet in Saturday's Hurling for Tim fundraiser in Kilmoyley.
Jack and Damien Cahalane, Mark Coleman, Tim O’Mahony, Christopher Joyce and Declan Dalton have all been named in Meyler's side for the clash, in aid of the former Kerry minor prospect. Meanwhile, Dalo has lined up Patrick Collins, Sean O’Donoghue, Cormac O’Brien and Robbie O’Flynn on his selection.
Other stars lining up include Kerry ace Shane Conway, Clare's Ryan Taylor and retired Cork attackers Alan Cadogan and Stephen Moylan.
The match will be streamed live on Clubber, with the €10 fee going directly to the fund.

Tim was counted among Kerry's brightest hurling prospects when his life was reshaped utterly by a car crash in 2010, when he was just 18. Tim was paralysed from the neck down and faced an arduous battle just to regain any independence, his sporting ambitions shattered.

With the support of his parents, Tim was able to live at home for the next decade. However, the death of both of Tim's parents in recent years proved further cruel blows, as did several health setbacks of his own, including infection and worsening scoliosis.
For more than a year, Tim became a permanent resident of Kerry University Hospital and in June was transferred to Clarinbridge Care Centre in Co. Galway.

All the while, his sister Emily and her husband David stepped in as Tim's next of kin and began advocating on his behalf, retraining in healthcare. But as they worked to bring Tim home, found mounting logistical challenges and spiralling costs as they currently renovate a property to accomodate his needs.
It is Tim's long journey back home to Kilmoyley that has stirred the hurling community into action.
Kilmoyley and Kerry stalwart Shane Brick is among those driving the 'Hurling for Tim' fund, with the help of Dalo, who managed the Kilmoyley club to two Kerry senior titles, and Meyler, whose long connection to the club included a four-in-a-row.
"In '09 we won the seniors back to back and the minors won trained by John and who got the winning goal, only Tim O'Brien," Dalo reflected.
The good news is that Tim's homecoming is imminent, with Saturday's fixture set to become a celebration too.
"Tim is coming home this week, either way, which is fantastic," Dalo added. "Whatever we raise, it'll go towards helping. The hurling community has been fantastic."

Meyler's Legends will play Dalo's Stars in Páirc Naomh Erc, Kilmoyley, Kerry on Saturday, October 25th. The showpiece game at 3pm will be preceded by a Masters game at 2pm and an underage match at 1pm. Gates open at noon.
