Mungret St Pauls are 2025 Limerick Premier Minor Football champions after a 1-10 to 1-8 victory over Oola in Knocklong.

A late Pakie Richardson goal gave Oola hope of a dramatic comeback but Mungret held on for a deserved victory following a dominant second half.

Oola led by four with five minutes left in the opening half but three Killian Begley frees brought Mungret back into the contest.

Jack Dervan’s goal in the 39th minute put Mungret very much on the front foot and with man of the match Conor Ó Longaigh pulling the strings, the city club were worthy winners.

Oola made a sensational start to the game with captain Micheál Ryan and Josh McLoughlin (2) setting them on their way.

Ó Longaigh got Mungret on the board with a solo effort but Sean Hanley and a Paddy Ryan free saw Oola 0-5 to 0-1 clear late in the first half.

However, three close range frees from Begley, son of Limerick dual star Brian, saw Mungret trail by a solitary point at the break.

Ó Longaigh squared the game up six minutes into the second half and then came the crucial strike from Dervan.

His deflected effort looped over Oola keeper Mark Ryan after being set up by Rory Mullins to put Mungret 1-5 to 0-5 clear.

A Diarmuid Crowe two-pointer saw Oola get to within two heading into the final quarter but the east Limerick outfit were unable to get back in front and it was Mungret that held on despite Richardson’s late rally.
