It was the first weekend of knockout action in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship and not for the first time it was Ballyhale Shamrocks who took the eye.

The nine-time All-Ireland winners have been going about their business quite well under the management of Henry Shefflin and they proved much too hot for Erins Own of Castlecomer in their Round 1 tie on Saturday.
