Kerry minor football manager Wayne Quillinan was full of praise for the resilience and perseverance of full-forward Kevin Griffin as the big attacker overcame serious injury problems earlier in the season to produce a player of the match display on Friday night.

With a tally of eight points, including a brace of two-pointers in the second half, the St Michael’s/Foilmore man was the key component of the Kingdom’s nine-point victory over Cork in the Munster final at Austin Stack Park.
