NOW that there’s a Royal rebirth in Leinster, is there an Irish sporting blue riband left that routinely falls flat and offers such a meagre ration of teaspach as Munster’s football decider?

Not until Cork get their house in order – and that may be a while – can the province extricate its football championship from this parlous slumber, the latest chapter of which played out in front of 13,181 diehards at Fitzgerald Stadium.
