CORK

Patrick Collins 8

The goalkeeper’s task was made easier by the sending off. His stats still impressed with 33 of 38 puck-outs retained, 0-4 in direct assists, and three saves

Niall O’Leary 6

Handed a tough assignment on the in-form Jason Forde but won his fair share of ball.

Eoin Downey 7

Saved a Jason Forde free on the line but called for a couple of grappling fouls on John McGrath as he was booked before half-time.

Seán O’Donoghue 6

With Darragh McCarthy red-carded for his dig on O’Donoghue, the Inniscarra man swapped onto centre-forward Jake Morris to create the spare man.

Ciarán Joyce 8

Kept Darragh Stakelum under close surveillance and stood out as the tempo dropped in the second half, assisting 1-2 and fouled for a converted free.

Robert Downey 7

Played a sweeper role until his 20th-minute withdrawal due to a dead leg. Pounced on loose puck-outs for the first two goals.

Mark Coleman 6

Took over sweeping duties from Downey, which suits his skillset, but was twice penalised for fouling the sliotar for Tipp points.

Tim O’Mahony 7

Started like a house on fire with the goal and supplying the next for Patrick Horgan. Less prominent thereafter and replaced by Robbie O’Flynn.

Ethan Twomey 6

Fouled for a pointed free and forced Craig Morgan to overcarry for another. Called ashore after 47 minutes for Luke Meade.

Declan Dalton 8

Scored Cork’s first two points and ended with 1-6 from eight shots, including two long-range frees. Moved inside late on and brilliantly beat his man for the goal.

Darragh Fitzgibbon 7

Won plenty of puck-out ball, teed up Alan Connolly’s goal, and notched two points of his own.

Séamus Harnedy 8

Booked early after a scrap with Sam O’Farrell before a fine 70-minute shift, which delivered 0-5 from seven shots.

Patrick Horgan 8

His 1-9 total came from 14 shots and included 1-3 from play. Left Michael Breen for dead for the goal and turned over Eoghan Connolly for a Brian Hayes point.

Alan Connolly 6

Got his customary goal against Tipperary with smart movement. Replaced by Brian Roche and had his lower leg strapped at full-time.

Brian Hayes 7

Played the final pass for O’Mahony’s goal and involved in the build-up for Connolly’s. Also nailed two points of his own.

Subs: Robbie O’Flynn showed fine form with 0-2 from three shots while Tommy O’Connell also scored late. Ger Millerick was assured on his early introduction.

TIPPERARY

Barry Hogan 6

Beaten for four goals and faced an extra man on puck-outs, retaining just over half (25 out of 43).

Eoghan Connolly 6

Tried his best to limit Brian Hayes before being moved out to the half-backs. Scored one point from four attempts with one miss punished for Dalton's goal.

Robert Doyle 8

Given the Alan Connolly brief and won some brilliant possession out in front. Liam Cahill said Tipp need to find more gems like him post-match.

Michael Breen 6

Unexpectedly picked up Patrick Horgan but was rounded for the goal and wasn’t as influential.

Sam O’Farrell 6

Snatched at his goal chance, which Patrick Collins saved, and won a pair of pointed frees. Had his hands full with Séamus Harnedy until moving to midfield.

Ronan Maher 6

Took a closer marking role on Darragh Fitzgibbon before being switched out to the wing for the second half.

Bryan O’Mara 6

Outstanding against Limerick but struggled on Declan Dalton, who beat him one-on-one for the final goal.

Craig Morgan 7

Had a weak shot saved by Patrick Collins. Dropped back to tag Darragh Fitzgibbon at half-time and still played a key role in three second-half points.

Alan Tynan 6

Had his point from the throw-in chalked off due to Darragh McCarthy’s red card. Kept ticking over in the first half before fading and replaced by Séamus Kennedy.

Conor Bowe 6

His smart flick created a point for Jake Morris. Moved to the inside line at the break and replaced by Andrew Ormond.

Jake Morris 7

Would’ve hoped for less tight marking than Seán O’Donoghue provided but scored 0-3 and won three pointed frees

Darragh Stakelum 6

His turnover led to Craig Morgan’s goal chance and he scored a point of his own before being withdrawn for Noel McGrath.

Darragh McCarthy N/A

Not on long enough to be rated after his dig on Seán O’Donoghue saw him red-carded before the sliotar had been thrown-in.

John McGrath 6

Didn’t achieve the same end product as against Limerick but laid on two goal chances and fouled for three pointed frees.

Jason Forde 8

Wasn’t expecting the free-taking responsibilities but amassed 0-15 (12 frees) from 19 shots, including one attempt for goal.

Subs: Willie Connors was last on but finished with 0-2. Andrew Ormond got a point and had a shot at goal. Gearóid O’Connor assisted a pair and Noel McGrath was assured as usual.
