Handed a tough assignment on the in-form Jason Forde but won his fair share of ball.
Saved a Jason Forde free on the line but called for a couple of grappling fouls on John McGrath as he was booked before half-time.
With Darragh McCarthy red-carded for his dig on O’Donoghue, the Inniscarra man swapped onto centre-forward Jake Morris to create the spare man.
Kept Darragh Stakelum under close surveillance and stood out as the tempo dropped in the second half, assisting 1-2 and fouled for a converted free.
Played a sweeper role until his 20th-minute withdrawal due to a dead leg. Pounced on loose puck-outs for the first two goals.

Got his customary goal against Tipperary with smart movement. Replaced by Brian Roche and had his lower leg strapped at full-time.
Played the final pass for O’Mahony’s goal and involved in the build-up for Connolly’s. Also nailed two points of his own.
Robbie O’Flynn showed fine form with 0-2 from three shots while Tommy O’Connell also scored late. Ger Millerick was assured on his early introduction.
Beaten for four goals and faced an extra man on puck-outs, retaining just over half (25 out of 43).
Tried his best to limit Brian Hayes before being moved out to the half-backs. Scored one point from four attempts with one miss punished for Dalton's goal.
Given the Alan Connolly brief and won some brilliant possession out in front. Liam Cahill said Tipp need to find more gems like him post-match.
Unexpectedly picked up Patrick Horgan but was rounded for the goal and wasn’t as influential.

Wasn’t expecting the free-taking responsibilities but amassed 0-15 (12 frees) from 19 shots, including one attempt for goal.
Willie Connors was last on but finished with 0-2. Andrew Ormond got a point and had a shot at goal. Gearóid O’Connor assisted a pair and Noel McGrath was assured as usual.
