As manager Liam Cahill reflected on a challenging day for Tipperary hurling, he praised their 14-man effort, saying it could well have ended up ‘a 30-point hammering’.

“Obviously Munster championship hurling can throw up anything, can't it. Today was a difficult day from the outset, from the first 60 seconds. We cannot dwell on it. Yes, there are lots of areas we'll have to improve on, but we can't stay beating ourselves up either.
