The county board delegate who unsuccessfully called for a discussion on Cork football during last week’s board meeting has said it is “totally out of order” to delay the change required to improve the health of the game in the county.

Carbery delegate Tom Lyons, during March’s behind-closed-doors meeting, sought to have a discussion on Cork football included on the itinerary for next month’s meeting. He was calling for the wide-ranging discussion off the back of Cork’s 14-point League trouncing at home to Roscommon. The defeat represented the county’s heaviest beating in four years.
