News has emerged that Dr Crokes manager Pat O’Shea has decided to step away along with his management committee despite leading a relatively young side to the top in Kerry and Munster this year. Crokes agonisingly lost the All-Ireland Club semi–final after extra-time to Ulster champions Errigal Ciarán.
O’Shea guided the Dr Crokes team to eleven straight wins in the County League, a club Championship success with a win over Dingle and then went on to reclaim the Bishop Moynihan Cup, beating Dingle again in the final. This win saw the side embark on a Munster campaign that led Dr Crokes to their ninth AIB Munster Club SFC title with an impressive second-half performance to shake off Loughmore-Castleiney from Tipperary in the final.
