The Cork hurlers will have no opportunity to recreate the floodlit Munster championship magic of last summer as both of their home games in the 2025 round-robin have been scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Cork both saved and restarted their 2024 season with a famous Saturday evening win under lights against then champions Limerick. It was an instant classic watched by a sell-out Páirc Uí Chaoimh crowd.
The county’s two home fixtures for the season just started, against Tipperary in Round 2 on April 27 and Waterford on the final weekend of action, will instead take place on a Sunday afternoon.
In a repeat of last July’s All-Ireland final, Cork and Clare will contest the opening game of the 2025 Munster championship. That Round 1 tie will throw-in at 2pm on Sunday, April 20 at Cusack Park, Ennis.
Tipperary and Limerick meet at 4pm in Thurles on the same opening Sunday.
The two Saturday evening games part of the round-robin program are the two Round 3 fixtures to be played across separate weekends.
On Saturday May 3, Peter Qually’s Waterford welcome Limerick to Walsh Park. Seven days later, Tipperary are in Ennis to face the All-Ireland champions. Both games have 6pm starts.
The latter fixture will represent the first time since the introduction of the provincial round-robin that Clare have played a home fixture of a Saturday evening.
The Saturday evening Munster final has been confirmed for 6pm on June 7.

It is Saturday all the way in the Munster SFC as both quarter-finals and semi-finals will take place on two Saturday evenings in April.
The Tipp-Waterford and Cork-Limerick quarter-finals are fixed for April 5 (both 6pm starts), with the semi-finals scheduled for a fortnight later.
Irrespective of who comes through the Cork-Limerick quarter-final, they will have home advantage for their Munster semi-final against Kerry on April 19. That game is also a 6pm start.
The Munster SFC final has a 1.45pm throw-in on Sunday, May 4.
