Kerry and Donegal league game postponed

A number of other games from around the country have been postponed or reschuduled until tomorrow.

Sunday’s Allianz Division One game between Kerry and Donegal has been postponed because Donegal are unable to travel due to weather conditions.

The game, which was due to take place in Fitzgerald Stadium at 1.45pm, will be rescheduled for a later date, possibly February 8 or 9.

Speculation that the game would not take place emerged on social media on Friday evening but was dismissed by Donegal GAA. However, their X account confirmed the decision on Saturday morning: “Our game v Kerry has this morning been postponed. Rescheduled fixture will be posted when set”.

A post on the official GAA platform on X read: “The #AllianzLeagues Division One fixture, @Kerry_Official v @officialdonegal, has been postponed due to weather conditions preventing Donegal from travelling. CCCC will confirm re-fixture details on Monday.” 

Leitrim’s Division Three clash with Laois, which was set to be the first game played under the new rules, has been rearranged for Sunday as there is currently electrical issues in Ballinamore arising from Friday’s storm.

Mayo's Division Three hurling game against Cavan due to take place today at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park has been postphoned due to damage caused by Storm Éowyn.

Westmeath's hurling league fixture against Laois due to take place this afternoon has been postphoned due to a frozen ptich at TEG Cusack Park in Mullingar.

CCCC will confirm re-fixture details on Monday.
