Wexford veteran Liam Óg McGovern has joined his St Anne’s club-mate Diarmuid O’Keeffe in inter-county retirement.

McGovern (34) was part of the county’s 2019 Leinster senior hurling championship winning team having made his debut for The Model County seven years earlier. He also scored two goals against Kilkenny in the 2023 final round game in Leinster to help Wexford retain their Liam MacCarthy Cup status.
