Dr Crokes were never going to deploy a sweeper against Errigal Ciarán's Canavan brothers

There was plenty of surprise among the Tyrone contingent in Newbridge that Dr Crokes didn’t deploy a sweeper to screen the Canavan brothers but that was never on the cards, according to selector Denis Coleman.

“We haven’t played a sweeper all year and that’s part of our culture and how we play,” said Coleman after this thriller in which Darragh and Ruairí produced 1-13 between them for victorious Errigal Ciarán.
