Preview: DSL Macroom fancied to reach Corn Uí Mhuirí quarter-finals

DSL Macroom will be hoping to right a wrong, as they perceived it.
The left the Dr Crokes venue two weeks ago, having beaten ISK by 16 points to not only leave them on top of Group 4 on five points but they also have improved their scoring difference to plus 23.
This meant that only a 13 point PA Mallow win over Mitchelstown later that same evening would prevent DLS Macroom from finishing top of Group 4 and progressing straight through to the last eight in January.
But as the games were not played at the same time, PA Mallow knew exactly what to do and they beat Mitchelstown CBS by 14 points, meaning DSL Macroom must now beat PS Chorca Dhuibhe, who beat Pres Milltown in a three team Group by a point, to finish second to Tralee CBS.
Denis O’Mullane from Kilmurry will be trying to inflict more pain on a Kerry side as he scored 2-4 against ISK while Tim Sweeney is another scoring threat with 2-1 and Tom Browne added 0-4.
Sean O’Leary is a marauding centre back and Macroom, with Shane Ryan on the side lines, will be hard to beat. PS Chorcha Dhuibhne have three very good Kerry minors in Aodhna Ó Beaglaoich, Sean Ó Cúinn and Paudie Fitzgerald but they may lack the all round strength of DSL Macroom.
DSL Macroom by a whisker.
