Defending champions Ballina Stephenites did just enough to get the better of Castlebar Mitchels after a hard-fought Mayo SFC quarter-final on a wintry day at James Stephens Park.

Niall Heffernan’s side had to triumph over adversity after starting without injured talisman Evan Regan and losing the inspirational Padraig O’Hora to injury before half-time.
