Republic of Ireland defender Liam Scales has signed a new contract at Celtic which will keep him at Parkhead until at least the summer of 2030.
Given the form of the 27-year-old Wicklow native in recent weeks, the Scottish Giants have opted to reward him for his efforts and they also have the option to extend his stay by a further year.
"I’m delighted to commit for another few years here," said Scales, who joined the Bhoys from Shamrock Rovers back in 2021.
"It’s an amazing club and I’ve grown to love it. I feel a real part of it now.
"I really enjoy myself here, I love my life here in Scotland and it was good for all parties to get this done.
"I feel like I’ve got the game experience now, I’ve played nearly 150 games for the club and I’ve played for Ireland.
"It’s all coming together nicely and I just want to continue on the right trajectory over these next few years."
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill added: "I’m delighted for him and delighted for the club because I think Liam’s been outstanding, and since I’ve been here, he’s been absolutely terrific.
"We are a better team when he’s in and he’s also got the ability to play left-back, and I think it’s good news for the club because he’s always there.
"I like him a lot and I think he’s been a major player for us this season."
