The four Cork football championship games which were originally scheduled to be played on Sunday but were postponed due to an orange weather warning have been rescheduled for the weekend of October 5/6.
The postponed games include the Nemo-Clonakilty and Mallow-Muskerry Premier Senior quarter-finals, as well as the top-tier relegation play-off between Éire Óg and Carbery Rangers. The Intermediate A quarter-final between Gabriel Rangers and Mitchelstown was the other postponed match.
The postponements mean that the Premier Junior Hurling Championship semi-finals involving Nemo Rangers and Mallow have been provisionally set for Saturday, October 12th. Those games being played on that date depend on whether Nemo Rangers and/or Mallow progress from their football quarter-finals.
In a statement, Cork GAA said that, "Due to the Munster Football Championship deadline preceding the Hurling equivalent, County Football Championship fixtures will be given priority for the remainder of the Championships."
