Mayo GAA have confirmed that a review of Kevin McStay’s season has concluded and he will continue as manager for 2025.

“Mayo GAA have concluded their annual end of year review with the Mayo senior football management team and would like to confirm that Kevin McStay will continue as the manager of the Mayo Senior Football Team for 2025,” they announced in a statement.

“The Mayo GAA Coiste Bainistí would like to wish the players and the management team all the very best of luck for 2025.”

McStay is halfway through a four-year term. The review was discussed at a county board meeting earlier this month with some delegates airing dissatisfaction with the current management setup.

Players were asked to respond to questionnaires and McStay met with players this weekend before the secretary notified clubs that the year review was at an end three months after they exited the championship.

Mayo were knocked out by Derry in the preliminary quarter-final having lost in the Connacht decider to Galway.

Elsewhere, the Roscommon Herald reports that former Kildare footballer Hugh Lynch has joined Davy Burke’s setup ahead of the 2025 season. It is understood selector Lar Wall, who previously led The Downs to a Leinster club final, will not return. Wall was a contender for the Meath position recently filled by Robbie Brennan.
