Champions Clonmel Commercials’ bid for a three-in-a-row of Tipperary SFC titles stayed on track with a comprehensive 1-12 to 0-6 win over Ballina, intermediate champions two years ago, in the quarter-final at The Ragg on Sunday. It took the hotly fancied Commercials 40 minutes to take control even though Ballina started without county men Steven O'Brien and Teddy Doyle. Commercials were also missing Seamus Kennedy and James Morris, though the Ballina pair got into the action in the second half.
