Full-time in Rathcormac and Sarsfields are through to the semi-finals of the Co-Op Superstores Premier Senior Hurling Championship after a 1-25 to 0-14 victory over Bishopstown. 5.22pm  St Finbarrs 3-17 Newcestown 0-20

Relief all round as both teams avoid relegation trouble. St Finbarrs' victory never appeared in doubt as much as Newcestown kept it competitive. Their lack of a goal threat hurt their cause though.

And John Fogarty writes: Midway through the second half and St Finbarrs are five ahead, 3-13 to 0-17, and Newcestown are relying heavily on frees but nothing is certain.

At Páirc Uí Rinn, two from Lehane and Mikey Finn's third of the day put Midleton back in front, John Coleman tells us. 0-20 to 1-15, 10 to play.

5.05pm It's all happening. Another goal for Kanturk - Alan Walsh again - Kanturk 3-17 Charleville 3-14 after 48 mins.

4.46pm Sars v Bishopstown

Half-time in Rathcormac and Sarsfields lead 0-12 to 0-7 against Bishopstown in the Co-Op Superstores Premier Senior Hurling Championship.

The two teams were actually level five times before a 0-6 burst by the defending champions put them in front at the break. Daniel Hogan has led the line for Sars with 0-4 (2f) in his personal record book. Dylan O'Connell

4.43pm Newtownshandrum v Douglas

It’s honours even at the break here in Mourne Abbey. Newtownshandrum, you’d think the happier having played into a very strong wind.

The north Cork side got off to a fast start with a Conor Griffin goal after 16 seconds. And they had a couple of more green flag opportunities before Ronan Geary nabbed their second goal in the 19th minute.

Alan Cadogan (0-5, 0-4 placed balls) and Shane Kingston (0-4, 0-1 free) the chief scorers for Douglas.

Douglas didn't make use of the wind, hitting eight wides to three for Newtownshandrum.

Newtownshandrum 2-6 Douglas 0-12. Therese O'Callaghan

4.42pm Austin Stacks v Laune Rangers

It's going to extra-time! Donagh McKivergan's free for Austin Stacks in the 55th minute levels up the scores. Fiachra Clifford, off his weaker right foot, misses a decent chance for the winner in the dying moments. Austin Stacks 0-10, Laune Rangers 2-4. John O'Dowd

4.39pm Midleton v Erins Own

Midleton have played most of the hurling in Páirc Uí Rinn, but only lead by four points at the break. While Conor Lehane and Luke O’Farrell, who have hit 0-6 and 0-3 respectively, have been unerring, their accuracy elsewhere has left them down. They have hit eleven wides.

Alex Quirke is operating well at centre forward, and in general, their backs have been in control. Robbie O’Flynn has been Erin’s Own main threat with 0-6 to his name, 0-2 from play, with Barry Óg Murphy also motoring well at wing back.

Erin’s Own, as ever, keep finding a way back into it when it looks like the Magpies are about to pull away. They will have the wind at their backs when we resume. John Coleman

4.38pm Kanurk v Charleville

Charleville started well with two Tim Hawe goals but Kanturk have roared back.

A goal from Rory Sheehan and a host of wonderful scores. Lorcan O Neill at centre forward has been superb.

Kanturk well worth their lead but the strong wind will help. Charleville in the second half. This one is far from done yet but Kanturk seem to have found their groove. Diarmuid Sheejan

4.37pm Barr's v Newcestown

With a strong breeze to look forward to, St Finbarrs will be relatively pleased to go into the break a score ahead, 3-7 to 0-13, although they conceded the last three points of the half.

They struggled on their puck-out early on but Ethan Twomey’s eighth-minute goal gave them the confidence that had been sorely lacking in the previous couple of games.

Back in the team after injury, Twomey was fundamental to the Barrs winning the middle third. Another Cork star in Brian Hayes laid off both goals for William Buckley in the 18th and 21st minutes. John Fogarty

Scorers for St Finbarrs: W. Buckley (2-0); E. Twomey (1-0); B. Cunningham (0-4, 2 frees); J. Cahalane (0-2); B. Hayes (0-1).

Scorers for Newcestown: C. Dinneen (0-4); R. O’Sullivan (0-4, frees); C. O’Donovan (0-2); S. O’Donovan, D. Buckley, N. Kelly (0-1 each).

St Finbarrs 3-17 Newcestown 0-13

Kanturk 1-14 Charleville 2-08

Newtownshandrum 2-6 Douglas 0-12

Sarsfields 0-12 Bishopstown 0-7

4.34pm The second Kerry Premier JFC semi-final has ALSO gone to extra time, Ardfert and St Senan's finishing level at 1-13 apiece in Tralee.

4.33pm  Blackrock 2-9 Fr O'Neill's 1-9 on 30mins. Declan Dalton with a 28th-minute goal with first touch after returning from blood sub absence. Stephen Barry

4.32pm GOAL for Laune Rangers! Daire Cleary makes a scintillating run in along the right endline, and when his fisted cross comes back off the post, corner-back Sean Cleary (his brother) palms the ball into the net from close range. 2-4 to 0-9 after 52 minutes. All to play for! - John O'Dowd.

4.30pm Two in a row from Robbie O'Flynn on the Boreenmanna Road. Midleton 0-10 to Erin's Own 0-7 -25 minutes played.

And there's a goal for Kanturk. Rory Sheehan has them 1-12 to Charleville 2-7.

4.27pm Blackrock v Fr O'Neills, you ask?  The Rockies are now 2-6 to 0-8 ahead, Stephen Barry reports. Alan Connolly with second goal in 22nd min. Created first for Fionn Coleman in 17th minute.

4.26pm Austin Stacks leading by two points, 0-9 to 1-4, at the end of the third quarter. Eoghan Hassett has levelled for Laune Rangers with a 45 metre booming point, but substitutes Donagh McKivergan (free) and Michael O'Donnell were on the mark for the Tralee men to seize the initiative heading into the final quarter. John O'Dowd

4.23pm Therese O'Callaghan reports: Second goal for Newtown against Douglas, Ronan Geary, 2-5 to 0-7 after 20 mins.

Back in the city, three in a row for Midleton sees them lead by 0-10 to 0-5, 20 minutes played.

While John Fogarty at Barrs v Newcestown tells us: "William Buckley scores his second goal in four minutes and again Brian Hayes lays it off for the score. A lovely batted effort by Buckley. Wind in St Finbarrs' face but they have taken a grip of the middle third and lead 3-7 to 0-10 after 22 minutes."

4.22pm

More Premier JFC heartbreak for Ballymac in Kerry, the Division 1 side once again coming up agonisingly short in the third tier championship in the Kingdom, for which they are understandable favourites. This time they went under in a dramatic semi-final at Fitzgerald Stadium to Firies - on penalties.

Three times during the game Ballymac had shots either scrambled off the line or off the crossbar, but they couldn't shake off a determined and, crucially, very accurate Firies side. The sides were level 1-16 at full time, the goals from Ballymac's Donal Daly in the first half and Firies wing back Diarmuid O'Mahony in the final quarter. They were still deadlocked at 1-21 each after extra time, forcing a penalty shoot out. Ballymac changed goalkeepers, putting former Kerry underage No1 Brian Lonergan in goals, but Firies nailed all four as Ballymac missed two of their first three, edging Firies into the final. Ardfert lead St Senans 1-13 to 1-12 in the final stages of the other semi final, taking place at Austin Stack Park. - Tony Leen

4.19pm To Páirc Uí Rinn, and John Coleman updates us on Midleton and Erins Own where a couple of intercounty stars are to the fore: "Robbie O'Flynn and Conor Lehane exchange scores, Midleton lead by 0-8 to 0-5 after 16 minutes."

4.15pm John O'Dowd updates us from Killarney: "Austin Stacks made a change at the break, Michael O'Donnell replacing Barry Shanahan, but it was Laune Rangers, with the elements at their backs, who started the better. A Matthew Leslie point narrows the gap to the minimum, and after Paddy Lane had a goal chance for Austin Stacks blocked, Fiachra Clifford rifled over the equaliser off his left foot. Lane settled the Rockies at the other end, firing over a great point from play (0-7 to 1-3) after 37 minutes."

4.13pm John Coleman at Páirc Uí Rinn writes: 6 wides and 3 points for Midleton against Erins Own, they lead 0-3 to 0-2 after 10 minutes.

In Buttevant meanwhiile, second Charleville goal 10 minutes in, Tim Hawe again. Charleville lead Kanturk: 2-1 to 0-5, Diarmuid Sheehan reports.

4.11pm Goal for Ethan Twomey and much needed for St Finbarrs against Newcestown. Richard O'Sullivan already had three pointed frees to his name as St Finbarrs were struggling with short puck-outs against the breeze. Newcestown 0-5 St Finbarrs 1-2. John Fogarty

4.08pm Newtown - against the wind - have an early goal against Douglas: Conor Griffin, 1-3 to 0-2.

4.04pm And we're off with a bang! Charleville's Tim Hawe finds the net against Kanturk after 30 seconds.

3.58pm  Charleville almost ready for the off against Kanturk in Buttevant, Diarmuid Sheehan shows us.

John Fogarty checks in from his crucial 4pm game meanwhile: "Ethan Twomey named to start for St Finbarrs as they look to avoid relegation battle against Newcestown in Cloughduv."

3.55pm In the Cork Premier SHC, there's one change for Midleton, John Coleman in Páirc Uí Rinn tells us.

Shane Broderick replaces Rian O'Regan. Midleton as selected, Sam Quirke back on the bench for the injured Tadhg O'Leary Hayes.

3.54pm HALF-TIME IN KILLARNEY

John O'Dowd writes: "With the pre-match rain making underfoot conditions difficult, and with Austin Stacks determined not to allow this contest to develop into a shoot-out, scores were few and far between before the break. The opening five minutes was, indeed, the liveliest part of the opening 30 minutes, three points from the Tralee men being cancelled out by Matthew Leslie's well-taken goal for Laune Rangers.

Both sides exchanged points to leave the sides level after 11 minutes (0-4 to 1-1) but, with defences completely on top as forwards struggled with handling errors, the game went through a full 17 minutes without a score before Cian Purcell raised a white flag for Stacks in the 28th minute. Despite wind advantage, it took a mammoth 55 metre free from goalkeeper Michael Tansley to give Billy Lee's men a two-point cushion at the break (0-6 to 1-1)."

3.51pm  Two changes to the Newtownshandrum team, Therese O'Callaghan reports - Cathal Naughton and Darragh Hawe replace injured duo Rory Troy and Jerry Lane. Douglas as per programme.

3.48pm "Amazingly," writes John O'Dowd, "no score in Fitzgerald Stadium for 14 minutes. The sides are still level heading into the last five minutes of the first half. Defences on top in the greasy underfoot conditions. Stacks 0-4 Rangers 1-1."

3.42pm  In Clare, Feakle lead Corofin by a goal in the SHC: 1-8 to 0-8. At half-time, elsewhere, it's Cratloe 1-11 to Kilmaley 0-11

3.38pm John O'Dowd reports from Kerry: Game in Killarney has settled down after a frantic enough beginning. Scores very hard to come by over the last 10 minutes or so. Goalkeeper Michael Tansley kicks a superb '45 for Austin Stacks, cancelled out by an Eoghan Hassett free at the other end. Stacks 0-4, Rangers 1-1 after 17 minutes.

3.33pm Here's the classified results from the Cork Premier IHC then.

Castlemaryr 1-18 Carrigaline 0-20

Valley Rovers 1-17 Watergrasshill 2-18

Mallow 4-18 Éire Óg 4-16

Ballincollig 1-23 Aghabullogue 0-14

Kilworth 0-21 Ballinhassig 2-25

Ballymartle 0-14 Dungourney 1-20

That means it's a relegation final between Aghabullogue v Kilworth.

Ballincollig and Watergrasshill head straight for the semis while we have quarter-final meetings between Dungourney and Mallow plus Ballinhassig and Carrigaline. Tasty.

3.28pm Full-time and it looks like Watergrasshill go through with their 2-18 to 1-17 win over Valley Rovers.

Valleys will likely face a relgation playoff, though we're still crunching the numbers.

3.25pm John O'Dowd reports from Killarney. "Great start, even though game commenced 20 minutes later than scheduled. Two quick pointed frees for Paddy Lane for Austin Stacks, before Daire Cleary sets up Matthew Leslie for a Laune Rangers goal. Stacks respond with a Daniel Kirby booming point. 0-3 to 1-0 after 5 minutes."

3.22pm In Kerry, the Laune Rangers v Austin Stacks meeting in the IFC final has thrown in -- a bit late -- with the Tralee side opening the scoring through Paddy Lane.

3.18pm The Cork Premier SHC ties will throw in at 4pm, of course. Therese O'Callaghan sends this update from Mourne Abbey where Douglas and Newtownshandrum players are warming up in. "A strong wind blowing down the field."

3.15pm The Mallow-Eire Óg clash is an old-school shootout - it's Mallow 4-17 Eire Óg 4-14 after 58 minutes or so.

3.10pm All 12 team in the Cork PIHC grade could yet progress this afternoon - 10 are still in danger of relegation, amazingly.

Watergrasshil are on of the two safe sides; 25mins into the second half there they lead 2-17 to Valley Rovers' 1-15.

3.03pm Andrew Horgan reports from Ballyanley and the Cork Prem IHC clash there: Ballincollig 1-14 to 0-10 up now on Aghabullogue, Brian Keating goal at the beginning of the second half

3pm: Strap in - it's going to be a hectic afternoon of club action.

We have reporters around the country and will be tracking the drama for the next few hours with knockout spots and relegation repurcussions on the table.
