The key scores that ended Kerry ladies' football famine

Hannah O'Donoghue's scores were all expertly taken, while the super sub clipped a terrific pass across to Emma Dineen for Kerry's third goal. There was a great move involving Danielle O'Leary and Niamh Ní Chonchuir that ended with Dineen fisting her opening score in the 41st minute too.
Perhaps the most underrated score of the game came in the 22nd minute when Louise Ni Mhuircheartaigh tapped over a free to make it 0-6 to 0-2 for Kerry. It wasn't actually the conversion that caught the eye, nor the work done by Aishling O'Connell who won the free but the terrific ball through the centre of Galway's defence by Siofra O'Shea that picked out O'Connell.

A year ago, O'Shea moved mountains to put herself in a position to feature in the All-Ireland final against Dublin. She'd suffered cruciate knee ligament damage just weeks beforehand but somehow managed to be able to come on in the second half, whilst awaiting surgery. Defeat was ultimately her lot that painful day.
O'Shea made her return in this year's Championship, initially as an impact sub before finally starting against Armagh in the semi-final. Ironically, she took O'Donoghue's place in the team that day and losing her place appeared to spark something in O'Donoghue because she was exceptional when she came on this time, scoring 1-2 and setting up a goal.

O'Shea wasn't as influential overall as she was in the semi-final but she still contributed to a landmark win and her comeback was one of the stories of the season.
