Replays could apply to provincial finals as well as All-Ireland finals after normal time if a new plan to extend the championships into August is developed.

The proposal includes doing away with the January competitions as a means of improving player welfare and attempting to address spiralling costs associated with a longer pre-season. It is also said to retain the eight-month inter-county season window.
