The only team with a 100% record remaining in the championship, Kerry will put it on the line against Derry in Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final in Croke Park at 3.15pm.

It will be preceded by the meeting of Donegal and Louth at 1.15pm, the latter team being given a seven-day window from their preliminary quarter-final win over Cork.

Both games are to be shown live on RTÉ One. On RTÉ2, there is live coverage of Irish Derby from The Curragh along with the Euro 2024 last 16 game involving the Group C winners possibly England.

Saturday last-eight matches – Armagh v Roscommon at 4pm and Dublin v Galway at 6.15pm – are to be streamed on GAAGO as was the case for the Saturday quarter-finals last year. They are the final championship games on the pay-per-view service.

Meanwhile, Central Council meets this weekend but it is remains to be seen if there will be a further debate on the options put forward by the Central Competitions Control Committee to alter the structure of the All-Ireland senior football championship.

The variation of the old qualifier format, applying to the Sam Maguire and Tailteann Cups with winners and losers rounds after the last 16 fixtures, appears to be gaining traction.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1’s “Morning Ireland” show yesterday, the indication from GAA director of club, player and games administration Feargal McGill was Central Council’s decision would take place later in the year.

McGill and GAA president Jarlath Burns concluded their provincial roadshow outlining the proposals, discussing the possibility of extending the inter-county season and listening to feedback with visits to Ulster and Connacht last week.

Burns said: “Myself and Feargal have been around all four provinces in the past two weeks. We’ve taken the views of all the delegates that were there. Some fantastic debates. Feargal has done a report on it. We’re going to go to Ard Chomhairle (Central Council) with it now, and the process will start again for looking at how we can do this in maybe a better way.”
