James Horan on rule trials: We were delighted with Saturday and how quickly players took to it

The first trial ‘sandbox game’ under the new Football Rules Committee showed that players are referees will adapt quickly to any upcoming change, according to former Mayo manager James Horan.

Speaking on the Irish Examiner’s Gaelic football podcast, Horan said the feedback from players in Mullingar on Saturday was positive. Offaly footballer Nigel Dunne was one of the players who took part.
