This weekend's All-Ireland senior hurling championship quarter-finals will be broadcast on RTÉ with the GAA also confirming the throw-in times for the double-header.

Cork will take on Dublin at 1.15pm in Thurles before beaten Munster finalists Clare and Wexford face off with a place in the last four of the hurling championship on the line at 3.15pm.

The URC final, which will now be contested by the Bulls and Glasgow Warriors, may now be shown on the RTÉ News Now channel.

Munster and Leinster failed to book a spot in the season finale thanks to defeat in their respective semi-finals last weekend.

On Sunday, the Central Competitions Controls Committee have fixed a Croke Park double-header for the Tailteann Cup.

Antrim and Laois is slated for a 2pm throw-in followed by Down and Sligo at 4pm.

Earlier, GAA chairman Jarlath Burns commented on the vote on a proposal to flip the hurling knockout hurling ties to Sunday.

“I asked for an Ard Chomhairle meeting last night because I felt we have five hurling games left and three of those are going on a Saturday (two quarter-finals, Kilkenny’s All-Ireland semi-final).

“We have 14 football matches and last night it became a contest of which are we going to nurture and promote more and it put Ard Chomhairle in a terrible position because they are two competitions we want to promote and nurture, the hurling championship and the Tailteann Cup, which is a new cup," Burns said on Morning Ireland.

“It was added to the fact that Wexford, who are out to play on Saturday against Clare, are also hosting the camogie and hurling Féile. They have hundreds of volunteers all around the county who are going to be involved in that and they now have to make a choice – either go to Thurles or stay at home to host the teams that are coming.

“That’s not an ideal situation whatsoever and it does come back to the fact that it is another aspect of this condensed championship along with the other things that we have discovered.”
