The GAA have responded to calls to assist old age pensioners purchase tickets by developing a dedicated phone line.
Croke Park has alerted all club and county officers that a new “GAA Match Ticket Assistant” has been launched “to assist patrons who may have difficulty purchasing GAA match tickets online”.
Supporters can call the phone number, relay what game they wish to attend and the type of ticket they are looking to purchase.
The agent will take their card details to complete the purchase. The service is fully PCI compliant and has the approved security controls in place to take payment in a secure manner.
The ticket or tickets can be issued by post in the form of a printed PDF ticket on A4 paper, email or WhatsApp.
The letter reads: “This new GAA Ticket Assistant is designed to first and foremost assist GAA supporters who may need or wish to avail of this service and is not intended to replace any existing ticketing channels.
“We are asking that details of this service are circulated through your Club, Community and County network (preferably by word of mouth) advising members in your community who may benefit or wish to avail of this new "GAA Ticket Assistant" service.” The GAA Match Ticket Assistant phone number is (01) 5143322.
Last month, Irish Rural Link stated many older people in rural area weren’t attending GAA games “as they are unable to purchase a ticket online”.
