Sarsfields and Charleville continue 100 per cent records with Division 1 Hurling League wins

Sarsfields Bryan Murphy is tackled by Glen Rovers Brian Moylan and Reece Dunne during the Red FM Cork Senior hurling league.

Reigning league and county champions, Sarsfields, show no signs of letting up as they made it 2 wins from 2 in Division 1 of the Red FM Cork Hurling Leagues. The Riverstown side will be on the road for all of their games this year after their home was devastated by the floods that hit Cork last October, and they made the short trip to the Glen field on Friday night.

The home side did lead by 1-8 to 1-6 at half time after a Simon Kennefick goal cancelled out an early Ben Graham penalty for Sars as Stephen Lynam impressed for Glen Rovers. Lynam ended up with 0-6 over the hour, but it was on the performance of Daniel Hogan that the game hinged. He hit 0-11, 0-5 of which came from play. Further goals from Shane O’Regan and James Sweeney supplemented Hogan’s unerring accuracy after the break as Sars recorded a comfortable 3-19 to 1-15 win.
