Cork manager Pat Ryan said a League semi-final “would have been great” to get game-time into the many returning faces in his panel.

Cork did all they could to reach the League’s last four by comfortably swatting Wexford aside, but Kilkenny’s victory over the road in Walsh Park meant they took the runner-up spot in Division 1 Group A.
