Cork hurler Mark Coleman suffers serious jaw injury

Mark Coleman’s involvement in this year’s All-Ireland SHC has been thrown into doubt after the Cork hurler suffered a serious jaw injury during a training weekend in Kerry.
The Cork half-back suffered an injury to his teeth and jaw during a training session in the Kingdom on Saturday and was immediately brought back to Cork for assessment.
The severity of the injury has yet to be fully established and so it remains to be seen what role Coleman will play in Cork’s championship campaign, which throws in against Waterford in seven weeks’ time.
Luckless Coleman, whose involvement from the off against Waterford last Sunday was his first start for Cork since the 2022 All-Ireland quarter-final, is now set for another spell on the sideline.
He missed all of the 2023 inter-county season because of a knee injury.
With this a break weekend in the Allianz Hurling League, the Cork hurlers headed to Kerry for a training weekend. It’s a training camp that has now been marred by Coleman’s injury.
