The bush telegraph is ringing with chatter that Jim Gavin has accepted an invite from incoming GAA president Jarlath Burns to head up a review of Gaelic football.

All will be revealed shortly but the fine research work done under the watch of national coaching and games committee John Tobin, which concluded rewarding risk should be a central plank of future changes, must be a touchstone for the person empowered with a comprehensive appraisal of the game as the late Eugene McGee was with the Football Review Committee in the early 2010s.
