Cork manager John Cleary was left to rue the slipping away of another league game his team “had the winning of”.

With only eight out of 21 shots from play converted against Cavan and no score at all from play during a second period that ran for 44 minutes, Cleary knew his side were guilty of plotting their latest downfall in Division 2.
