Mayo Club All-Star team named for charity match against the Mayo senior football team

The Mayo senior football team will take on the Club All-Star team in a charity match taking place on Saturday December 30 at 2.30pm in the Connacht GAA COE Air Dome. The charity match is in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The Club All-Star team is managed by Niall Heffernan (Ballina Stephenites), John Reilly (Kilmeena) and Eddie Conroy (Lahardane MacHales) and have named their side.
Aidan O'Shea captains the All Star Selection which is made up of club players who made starring roles for their clubs throughout the club championship in senior, intermediate and junior competitions. Sixteen different club players featured in the Mayo GAA 'Team of the Week' more than once during the season with Breaffy's Aidan O'Shea and Conor Beirne, Ballinrobe's Kevin Quinn and Ballina Stephenites Sam Callinan all featuring on three different teams.
The Club All-Stars will get a commemorative Mayo jersey for the game with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association on them. The club players will wear their own club socks and shorts on the day.
Tommy Conroy will captain the Mayo senior team and is managed by Kevin McStay, Stephen Rochford, Damien Mulligan, Donie Buckley and Joe Canney.
Lillian McGovern, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association CEO thanked Mayo GAA for their support stating they depend heavily on donations and fundraising efforts like this one. “We are a small organisation with 85% of our income coming from donations and fundraising. A huge thank you to all the players from the Mayo senior team and all the club players for agreeing to take part in this charity match.
"It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser and I’m hopeful that there will be a great turnout from the local community."
The game will be streamed live on Mayo GAA TV and the game is an all ticket affair which can be purchased off the Mayo GAA website.
