Joe Murphy would have felt a jolt of excitement course through his whole body on Saturday morning had he known that Paul Mannion would be restricted to just one point, and that from a free, in the afternoon’s Leinster football final.

The Naas manager would have spent more than a few days pondering with his selectors last week on just how they would go about bottling up the Kilmacud Crokes star and his Galway teammate Shane Walsh come their appointment in Croke Park.
