Former Cork senior hurling manager John Meyler is the county’s new minor boss, while Micheál 'Haulie' O'Sullivan is the new Cork minor football manager.
Meyler and O’Sullivan, who oversaw the Cork U16 hurling and football development squads this season, ascend to the respective minor posts as part of the pathway introduced by Cork GAA in recent years to ensure continuity and familiarity for development squad players.
Meyler has previously served as Kerry and Wexford senior hurling manager, as well as Cork selector during Kieran Kingston’s first term, before taking the top job in Cork hurling in 2018.
He spent two years in the gig, helping to retain the Munster crown in the first of those seasons. Cork were beaten in that year’s All-Ireland semi-final, after extra-time, by eventual champions Limerick.
His minor management ticket includes former Cork hurler and
columnist Seánie McGrath (Glen Rovers), Vincent Hurley (Courcey Rovers), Mike Mulcahy (Lisgoold), Pádraig O’Sullivan (Brian Dillons), and Peter Sykes (Ballyhooly).Haulie O’Sullivan is a former Cork footballer who, in management, brought Carbery Rangers as far as the Cork senior football final in 2014. O’Sullivan succeeds Ray O’Mahony who has moved up to the position of Cork U20 manager.
O'Sullivan's backroom team consists of Haulie O’Neill (Clonakilty), Pat Mackey (Youghal), Jimmy Thompson (Aghabullogue), and former Cork footballer Michael Shields (St Finbarr’s).
