Urban DGF1 final

Sc Padre Pio 4-4

Cork Educate Together 1-3

Padre Pio are the Cork Urban DGF1 Allianz Sciath Na Scol champions after their confident display saw them beat the resilient Cork Educate Together.

Pio were most impressive in the first half clocking up 3-4 to give them a healthy lead at the interval.

But CET wouldn’t roll over and put in an amazing second half display led by Hannah Coffey, who was helping her team at both ends by saving shots in goal and contributing scores too.

First half goals from Ally O’Sullivan, Danielle Bermingham and Lauren O’Sullivan gave Pio a healthy lead at the interval, 3-4 to 0-0.

The second half was mostly CET as they did their best to complete an incredible comeback with Coffey scored two points . Seconds later, Ide Ni Riain put the ball in the net from close range to put some pressure on Pio.

Coffey was working her magic at both ends of the field, scoring another point for her team and then making a superb save two minutes later to prevent an Ally O Sullivan effort. Meadbh Ni Riain’s point from a free would narrow the gap further but a Lauren O Sullivan goal just before the end would put the cherry on top for Pio.
