Meath full-forward Mathew Costello has scooped the Tailteann Cup player of the year award for 2023, while Carlow hurler Martin Kavanagh has claimed the Joe McDonagh Cup equivalent.

Costello starred as Colm O'Rourke's Meath outfit beat Down in the Tailteann decider to cap a successful first year under the All-Ireland winner's stewardship.
