There was a dramatic conclusion in Galway’s SFC Group 3 as Tuam Stars clinched a 0-13 to 0-12 victory over 2021 champions Mountbellew-Moylough to secure their spot in the preliminary quarter-final.

That preliminary quarter-final was due to be played on Thursday in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe but it is set to be postponed. Sunday’s downpour forced the cancellation of all three fixtures in Group 2. Corofin vs Barna, Salthill-Knocknacarra vs Oughterard, and Killannin vs Caherlistrane will all need to be rescheduled. The fixturing is complicated by the fact the Galway SHC quarter-finals are to take place next weekend.
