Tipperary SFC: Champions Clonmel thrash Ballina as Moyle Rovers leave it late

Moyle Rovers had been having a difficult championship run but this was their finest showing yet.

Champions Clonmel Commercials blitzed last year’s intermediate champions Ballina 4-17 to 0-7 in a one-sided Tipperary senior football quarter-final at Templemore on Saturday. 

Ballina had no answer to the pace and intensity of Commercials who were leading 0-5 to 0-1 when Colman Kennedy punished a slack kick-out with their first goal. By half-time Commercials were 1-10 to 0-3 clear with their place in the semi-final virtually guaranteed.
