Three goals see off Antrim
Westmeath and Carlow will contest the Bord na Móna Walsh Shield Final next Sunday in Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow, following this weekend's action.
A trio of goals proved the difference for Westmeath in their 3-17 to 0-17 win over reigning champions Antrim at Cusack Park, Mullingar this afternoon.
Brian Hanley's charges led by 2-8 to 0-10 at half-time, with goals from Aonghus Clarke and Robbie Greville before the break.
Westmeath opened up a 2-14 to 0-12 lead at the end of the third quarter, and although Antrim cut the gap to four point with six minutes remaining, the hosts fired an unanswered 1-2, including a 66th minute Davy Gavin goal to ensure a nine-point win.
Meanwhile on Friday night, David English scored six points in Carlow's 0-21 to 1-15 win over Laois at Heywood.
The visitors led by 0-11 to 0-9 at half-time, and while Laois worked hard to get back into contention, they registered 14 second half wides and 20 in total, with their goal coming from top-scorer Zane Keenan (1-9) late on.
