Gardaí warn hurling fans not to invade pitch

Gardaí have appealed to fans attending Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final not to invade the Croke Park pitch after the final whistle.
"Respect the dignity of both teams and the stadium staff," a Garda statement said.
"Pitch invasions pose a threat to safety of patrons and staff at the stadium."
The warning is just one of a number of Garda directives issued ahead of the hotly-anticipated clash.
There will be restricted access around the stadium to ticket holders, local residents and business persons issued with passes.
A restricted cordon will be in place from 8am, with a more rigid cordon in place from 10am.
The main cordon points will be located at:
Lr. Drumcondra Rd / Clonliffe Rd junction, Fitzroy Ave & Whitworth Place
North Circular Rd / Gills Corner, Jonses Rd
Clonliffe Rd / Jones Rd, and
Clonliffe Rd / Ballybough (Sackville, Clonliffe Ave, O’Sullivan Ave)
When each event finishes, there will be a significant traffic and crowd management plans designed in the interests of crowd safety exiting Stadium.
This plan will be in place for approximately 30 minutes.
There will be no entry into Jones Road post-match and to that extent, rigid cordons will be in place at Jones Rd / Clonliffe Rd Junction and the Russel St / North Circular Road junction.
The parking of bicycles will be prohibited at Jones Rd. Offending Bicycles will be removed.
There is a dedicated Bicycle Parking Stand at the Davin Car Park, entry is by St. Margaret’s Avenue off North Circular Road.
Gardaí have also warned of stringent ticket checks in place at the stadium. Only tickets which pass security checks will be accepted.
Patrons have been urged to beware of touts selling juvenile tickets as adult tickets, as well as forgeries.
